Paris: Baguette Day, A Palace and A Garden

It's another beautiful day in Paris! We started our day with breakfast by the traffic circle in Bastille at a restaurant called Le Canon . We ordered the traditional breakfast, and one breakfast with an omelette and salad. The traditional French breakfast is a croissant, pain du chocolat, or a baguette with butter and jam, coffee or tea, and freshly-squeezed orange juice. We were a little lacking in protein and green vegetables so we opted for the omelette and salad as well. The OJ was sweet and warm, the tea was excellent, the baguettes were fresh and delightful with butter and jam, and the omelette and salad hit the spot. Then we were off to Versailles! The palace is closed on Mondays so we went on Tuesday morning. The lines were impossibly long, even in the morning, so we had to wait for an hour to get into the palace. But we made it! Pinarello, a Waterfall, and the Swiss Alps

After we left Venice, we drove north through Italy in search of the Pinarello factory, a bike manufacturer that makes the pinnacle of racing cycles. Rob really  wanted to see the place and maybe even sit on some bikes. Before we went to the store, we stopped in for a cappuccino. It's the first place on the trip we saw snow! Well, we found the store! But it was closed... Then we drove through the town Bergamo on the outskirts of Milan and se stopped there for lunch. My lunch! A cheese and veggie sub, accompanied by a bottled water. On our way up through Italy and into Switzerland, we saw this several times: This is called rime ice, and it's what happens when fog freezes on trees. Capturing Natural Spirals

Water is so interesting. The two little hydrogen and one little oxygen molecules flow together in solid (ice), liquid (water), or gas (vapor), and can also pick up traces of sediment or leftovers, depending on which environment it runs through. When water is cast off from something, it can behave in different ways. See my  previous post for some odd water behavior.
