Benjamin Von Wong Extreme Photography
Photographer Benjamin Von Wong takes photography to new heights and lows on a regular basis. Check out two of his recent photoshoots below, one with models alight on a sunken ship and one atop the ancient walls of Jerusalem.
On the sunken shipwreck in Bali:
Nikon D90 | 12-24mm f4 | Aquatica housing | ISO 400 – f/4.5 – 1/200th sec
Due to the extreme location for the shoot, Von Wong utilized the natural, hazy light of the sun as well as on-camera strobes.
Nikon D90 | 12-24mm f4 | Aquatica housing | ISO 400 – f/4.0 – 1/100th sec
The models for the shoot were professional free divers and the crew were licensed scuba divers.

On the Walls of Jerusalem:
By request from Kinetis, an Israeli company, Von Wong and Israeli photographer Tomer Jacobson teamed up to create a fresh take on Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, a country often suffering internal turmoil. Von Wong and Jacobson featured local extreme athletes who bladed, biked, scooted, and jumped around the Old City.
I was conflicted before I posted this one, because of the fondness I have for the Jewish state and the kind of activity these photographers had planned to execute on the holy walls of the city. But then I realized how important these photos are to the world: they show that people are enjoying life through sport and the activities are non-destructive, collaborative, and fresh. Enjoy!
