Yoga is Beauty

Image
I had the privilege of photographing Lindsay Lusignea, a yoga instructor from Maryland. She demonstrated several yoga poses and I also took some portraits. Enjoy!   For more information about the yoga Lusignea practices, take a look at her website ! www.amyhefterphotography.com

Tediously Precise (For those who have the time...)

Image
To everyone who says there are not enough hours in the day or days in the week: These artists have made incredible use of their time by creating masterpieces with patience and fine, controlled motor skills.  Kathy Klein Flower and Seed "danmalas" Klein creates these arrangements outdoors, takes a photograph, and then leaves it for the  next person to discover. "Danmala," a combination of two Sanskrit words , means "the giver [of] garlands of flowers."  How does she keep the seeds from rolling around? via thisiscolossal Piotr Bockenheim One slip of the wrist could destroy hours of tedious carving by Bockenheim. No Diving

Image
Created by artist  Leandro Erlich , this installation is made by suspending a thin layer of water (on a thick piece of glass) over an empty room painted like a pool. He installed two pools, one in New York and one in Japan. It's a beautiful illusion! Don't try to jump into this pool: New York photos (above)  © Amaury Laporte Viewers can stand in the room below and look up through the water. JANUARY 4, 2014 Into the Swarm Photograph by  Michele Martinelli , National Geographic Your Shot Oppression, interaction, collaboration. In the life cycle of nature nothing is lost, but the coexistence of different species is sometimes difficult. In Madagascar there periodically recurs the archaic antagonism between man and the migratory locust, in a circle of life where the two species [compete] for space and food for their survival. Here inside the heavy bag there are in fact locusts that the man caught during the day. This photo and caption were submitted to  Your Shot .
