Portraits in the Park

This summer, I have a few portrait photoshoots scheduled and I wanted to try out some new equipment. I rented a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM from Borrowlenses.com and the results were wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed the precise sharpness of the lens, but it was hard to get the right shot when my subjects moved a bit, or if I moved the camera a hair forward or backwards while depressing the shutter. These photos are about 14% of the amount that I shot that afternoon, after editing them down to my selects.

Here we have part two of the day's pre-baby shoot. My friend ("J") and her husband ("A") made a blueberry pancakes when we got back to their home after the walk in the park . "A" works as a professional chef at several locations, as well as a personal chef with Chef Bernard during alternate hours in the week. I watched them make the pancakes with pear sauce, and "A" also cut up some veggie for use later on. They maneuvered around the compact kitchen (and the baby bump...).   All done! They were delicious. Real or Fake?

Can you tell if these images are real? With the advancements in photo editing software and the hope that photographers show single-frame images, it is getting increasingly hard to determine if a shot is one frame or a composite. The first one that really caught my eye was published online in the National Geographic Your Shot Daily Dozen on October 1, 2009, and then again in the June 2010 National Geographic magazine. O riginal submission by William Lascelles . Caption information below: Backyard Airshow #candid #dog #flyby #jets "My parents live very close to the city airport and every other year they host an air show. This year the Blue Angels were the highlight and were flying over the house during performances. I took my father's dog outside and made him pose!" Guess what? This is fake. Paris: The Jewish Quarter, Louvre Courtyard and A Phallic Eiffel Tower

Good morning! Bonjour! Today we went to a small cafe in Bastille called  Cafe Truc , which literally means Cafe "Stuff." It was so cutely decorated and we enjoyed a traditional French breakfast here: croissant, pain du chocolat, tea, and fresh-squeezed orange juice. On our way to the Jewish quarter, we passed a museum with the sculpture below. The exhibit was showing all kinds of street sculpture and I recognized this from an article that was shared with me years ago. It reminded me of the other Bruno Catalano sculptures that were debuted in 2013. Pigeon taking a bath. Under the arches on the Place De Vosges: We made it to the Temple Des Vosges, which is an Orthodox shul in the middle of Paris. We were informed that the seats are full every Shabbat, and they have weddings and other special events there regularly.
